Tim Croneberger, Principal
Founded in 2009, Halcyon Design,LLC is a design company that embodies creativity, fluidity, and common sense. Inspired by and drawing upon 25 years of experience in the world of fashion and case goods, Tim Croneberger began the firm with the idea that simple is beautiful.
“My process with a client begins with a dialogue that brings to light their needs, preferences and comfort level. We then move gently towards the many options to realize their dream and vision. Working with a designer should involve a communication that not only satisfies a perceived need but also brings the client to a new , exciting and somewhat unfamiliar end result. My job is to provide clients with a safe and inspiring place to expand on ideas and take risks. And I love making it all look simple and beautiful in the end.”
Tim’s love for design began at a very early age and like many interior designers, he was influenced by his childhood home. “My mother taught me to look beyond a current reality to see what could be in its place. To reimagine spaces and to not be afraid of changing a room with a can of paint or a new fabric on an old chair. It involves taking risks and challenging your current environment.”
Halcyon Design's first project was a complete redesign of a Chelsea duplex. Subsequent projects range from smaller design consults to a total gut renovation of a two-bedroom Park Avenue residence to a 10,500 square foot country home in Westport, CT. Other projects include a residence in Shelter Island, NY, a complete renovation of a West Village duplex and a reinterpretation of a three-bedroom condo in Chelsea, NYC.
In early 2014, Tim brought Michael Logan on as senior designer to support the quickly growing business. Michael brings years of experience in staging, showroom design, and merchandising as well as residential interiors. The meshing of the two backgrounds allowed Halcyon Design to take on several new and exciting projects. They are currently designing the interiors for a 4 bedroom villa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and a family office in Boca Raton, Florida. As consultants they just completed a re-interpretation of a 14,000 square foot home in Delray Beach and one of the most important homes in Aspen, Colorado.
Tim and Michael's creativity, variety of experience, attention to detail, and ability to work within budget parameters, makes Halcyon Design, LLC one of the most unique new design firms in New York City.
Houzz.com selected Halcyon Design, LLC as "Best of 2013" in design and "Best of 2014" in service. In 2014, Halcyon Design was one of the featured firms in Housing Works annual benefit "Design on a Dime" in New York City and in 2015 was one of the top 5 grossing firms out of 65 vignettes. The benefit raised 1.3 million dollarsto fight the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS.
